The Tenzing-Hillary Everest Marathon is an international high altitude adventure sports event held below Mt Everest on May 29 every year. The event has been conducted successfully each year since 2003 to commemorate the historical ascent of Mt. Everest by Late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary on May 29, 1953. The marathon is now a well established, iconic event in Nepal.
The marathon trail crisscrosses the Sherpa highlands of Khumbu Valley under the gaze of the highest Himalyan peaks and ranges.
